Tail lights not lining up

I had taken off my tail lights to modify the look. So since I don't have money for some nice new tails, I had cut an designed these circle templates an tinted the rest of the lens, came out pretty cool! Anyway I had used a heat gun to pull the lens cover off the assembly, and re-glued everything after. Now that everything is back together I went to put the tail lights back on an now it does not line up with the body of the car on either light. The turn signal side on each lights sticks outward towards you if you're standing behind the car, now did I glue it wrong? Or maybe using the heat gun did it warp the cover? Any insight please help me out I'll try to get some pictures up

Yeah, you're gonna need some pictures, not having an easy time visualizing this.

Sounds like you didn't push the lens all the way into the housing.

You already know what you have to do.

Take them apart again , make sure to remove ALL the glue and re-glued it together .

Their is no other option really , as you stated ,
so make a clean job and don't rush it.

And then enjoy forever..
