they are not that bad with the helical gears as they are not to noisy running. and can be shifted quietly regardless of gear style . ppg above even had video on YouTube with there ceo in a wrx with a straight cut faceplated box. and a gtr also just quietly cruising around. reality is if you want the fastest shifts with big power is the only real option. everything's a trade off

Gears in that trans are not good for the FD. Buy the T-56 Magnum. Basically the same trans as TR6060 with the better T-56 gearing. GNX7 sells them at a great price.

+1 to this the tr6060 shifts smoother than them all. If I'm not mistaken the tr6060 is a few inches shorter so you will need a dog leg to center it in the shifter hole. Again this is what I've reaid. The magnum would be the best bet imo if I did it all again that's the way I'd go.

food for though, the Lt1 equipped camaros came with hydraulics very similar to the fd hydraulics. This would eliminate the contamination issues from clutch dust. They lt1 trans hold up ok I beat the hell out of mine in the old days of owning those cars. Not quite as strong but can be upgraded rather easily by any shop. Used LT1 t56s are rather cheap compared to the others. I had a short shifter and custom **** in mine which helped tremendously. My FD still shifts shorter though....

The quick time bell housing has been brought up a few times. It can work. But it needs major work for that to happen.

So I'm considering a T56 and 8.8 rear end and wanted to get some of the information that I found validated.

The TR6060 is the newer version of the T56 with the triple syncros. The Magnum is a newer aftermarket solution of the TR6060. What I'm noticing is that there are different variances of the TR6060/magnum. The shifter sits at different locations due to the different tail piece. It also seems like the corvette T56 is fairly different? Which one am I looking for exactly?

As far as the bell housing. Some people are using the quicktime. The Quicktime fits to the manual rear iron, but requires cutting of the transmission housing to fit the manual FD starter. Is there other options for bell housing? If so, what are you guys doing?

My last question is how are you guys supporting the transmission. I see tranny mounts for the t56 for FC's but not FDs. With the different tranny and rear end, it eliminates the PPF.

Also I know there are other things that are needed for the conversion, such as the Wilwood 7/8 master cylinder, new clutch, different input shaft for the tranny, reverse lockout, hydraulic clutch actuator. Am I missing anything else?
