sustained high speeds ok?
 

Iw as wondering, how does the 7 holds up to sustained high speeds. Like 100+ MPH for say 10-30 minutes at a time?

no boost, no high rpm in 5 th ,no high temps, no cops , no small animals to hit, on problems.

My car runs a little warm over 70: about 205-215 degrees F. Which isn't too bad. If I wanted to fix it I would modify the undertray.
I don't think you have too much about which to worry, as far as the car is concerned, but you do need to watch out for the law and woodland creatures.

You mean like a DE where you're on course for 20 minutes at 100+ mph most of the time? I think the FD holds up okay ... better if you have done a bunch of the upgrades (bigger SMIC, CAI, ECU, DP, fuel pump, radiator). Basically, if all the really suspectible parts have been upgraded, you should be fine. Now if you're completely stock, I'd worry about how hot the engine bay gets after 20 minutes. :eek:

I would think the car would be fine if ya just have all the reliability mods done, like the radiator, DP, intercooler(don't have to) but things like that. Should be fine, again like he said as long as ya cruise! ;)

I never cruise at LESS than 80 on the interstate - the car will run well over 100 w/o boost so should have no problem crusing at that speed. I also track (road course 20-30 min sessions) my car with the stock IC. Oil coolers, and Rad w/o ever having an overheating problem - In fact I have NEVER seen my stock water temp guage move above horizontal while the car was moving!

That's cause the stock temp gauge is designed to not move from roughly 105 F to 225F. After that, it climbe REAL fast to warped rotor housings. Linearization mod. See what's REALLY going on. Or add a gauge to your stock interior :) See what's really REALLY going on.
