super high idle?

Hey guys-
If you started your car the first time, and it was idling like a map sensor was unpluged (it was ;) ) and then tried starting it again, and it idled at ~4000 RPM, what would you think the problem was?

Help!
Ben

Are you on the stock ECU?

If so, reset the stock ECU after you get the MAP sensor plugged back in.

by disconnecting the NEG for a few minutes correct?

Yep and push down on the brake pedal while the NEG is removed. You only need to do it for a a few seconds. I usually just count to 20. ;)

Ok- did that, Tryed starting it again, same problem.
What else?

Could be accelated warmup system, just tap the throttle and see if it comes down.

No- its not accelerated warmup system- when i tap the throttle it goes higher
I just checked codes and got what i believe is 18- Throttle sensor
Im diggin for info on that now. Anyone with any info on it please let me know!
Thanks,
Ben

I would re-check every area you worked on/around when relocating your battery. If it was fine before that, it's probably just something you bumped or knocked loose.

Mahjik- I just did that a few times, code 18 is TPS - narrow range.
how did i break that?

I have no idea. It might not be broken, but just needs to be adjusted. Check this thread:
