stupid stock airbox question
 

So, I have a stock airbox on the car. Is there a hose that is on the drivers side of the airbox that should be leading no where to suck in air? I just realized that my airbox only has air coming in through the stock fresh air duct, and other than the 2 accordian pipes leading to the turbos, all other inlets are capped off. This may sound elementary and stupid, but I have been having idle issues and seem to be running excessively rich....is it possible that since I have the box completely capped of, that I am starving the engine of air leading to the rough acceleration?

Yes, that is a hose to nowhere.

I found the answer...yes....I know that is a hose to nowhere....but it routes into a plastic box IN the airbox and comes out of the box to another "nipple" that connects to the airpump. That is what I can see, so it wouldn't be supplyiing fresh air to the intake box, but is acting as the "exhaust" for the airpump and the box in the air box is a muffler to prevent the MOO. My air filter is a little dirty, but not enough to be causing my issues.
