My God...if you only KNEW! I *literally* have withdrawal symptoms when I don't drive my car often. It's scary!

x605p747R1, I'm sorry to hear you're still struggling w/ your car. Not to sound like I know what I'm talking about...but try this. Change the plugs, and while the plugs are out, turn her over 3 - 5 times for 15 sec a peice to get all the gas out. Then put the new plugs in. I'm sure she'll work.

Or use the shortcut method like I did...new plugs, then spray the WD-40 in the UIM.

All this is assuming you have power to everything (so you know it's not your main fuse), and you can hear your fuel pump, and all the EGI fuses are working.

I'm not sure if you already know this, but when changing the plugs it is a HELL of a lot easier to jack the front of the car up and change them from underneath, rather than just popping the hood and trying to change them from the top.

nickpapagiorgio, yea I read that in many earlier threads, and I thought I addressed that in this one...maybe not.

In any case, I had 2 reasons from doing it from up top...

1) I read that you kind of have to feel for 1 or 2 of the plugs due to the position you have to contort yourself into to reach them. Considering this was my first time changing the plugs, I wanted to make sure I could see them. Besides, I was comfortable doin it from up top since I've taken off the elbow & TB a million & one times, so that's become second nature to me. Familiarity is key w/ me...

2) I have a VERY difficult time raising my car from the front w/ my Mazdaspeed sideskirts on. I have a very VERY small area to put the jack on, and frankly it's very worrying to see just how small it is, so I'd rather not get underneath my car like that...

I'm not sure what you mean here, when you do it from the bottom, all four plugs are easily seen and reached.

I know what you mean, I would never work under my car using the stock jack, or any other jack for that matter. Rather, I use ramps or jackstands.

I was referring to what I read. It could be wrong, as I've never done it from underneath...yet hehe

Ditto on the jackstands...they'd be holding such a narrow spot, it would make you unbelievably nervous if you saw it... It's basically right behind the front wheel, at the VERY tip of the fender. And I do mean the "TIP" of it.

Ramps, that's a totally diff ballgame. First, I have no idea how you guys get your car up on them w/o the ramps moving back on you. I tried that before (back when the body was stock) and the ramps kept movin back.

Assuming I could keep 'em steady, I can't get onto any ramps right now cuz of the C-west front bumper. It's so freakin low, I need to custom-make a wooden ramp that's done on 3 diff levels (looks kind of like 3 mini steps, with a good distance between each step) so the bumper will clear it (just like the ones my body shop has). I'll get around to making a pair eventually...but even those will move on you when you're trying to drive up on 'em.

last critique...you gotta have someone w/ you while you're doing that, to guide you up the ramps, and to let you know when to stop, etc., but 90% of the time when stuff happens, I'm by myself lol
