Studd broke off on stock manifold, its warped!

well, i was fixing my non seq. setup because the previous owner never welded or tied the flapper open when i noticed a nut loose near the flapper lever. this is the stud that holds the outer manifold onto the inner one and leads to the turbine housings. there is about a mm gap at the seam causing gasses to leak... from the looks of it the cast manifold warped over some time. i tried to close the gap in and the stud gave way. im not worried about the stud, shouldnt be hard to fix that, but is the manifold reusable? im affriad to have it surfaced because it may weaken it. and its probably really hard to bend it back, if it even would. Has anyone had this problem before?

You would have the manifold ground down to fix the warped face. You can't bend it back. Grinding .050" off the faces should not affect strength much.

The important thing is that the threads are all in good shape and that the studs are torqued to the correct torque on reassembly. Also use new gaskets.

Have the surfaces milled and go for a ride. I have had several sets done with no leaks after proper set up and milling .

im buying a good used manifold, and am going to port the WG port and take out all flapper's and stuff for full non-seq. this needed to be done and now my car will just be down for the swap.
