Stuck turbo actuator rod?
I've been experiencing an interesting boost condition. I get 2 to 3 pounds of boost max during WOT runs. I initaially thought that it was because I put my POWER FC Boost control kit in incorrectly but I'm not thinking that anymore because I tried all sorts of different configurations with it and the turbos act exactly the same way each time... I ruled out a boost leak as well... Someone said that I may have a stuck actuator rod... They recommended that I try to move the pre-control and wastegate actuator rods manually because they may be stuck... has anyone heard of this? Has it worked? If so, how did you do it?
Thanks Mike |
One of the reasons I'm doing the non-sequential conversion, eliminate complexity. It could be that or a bad duty valve, solenoid, check valve, vacuum line, etc. That's why I say skip the sequential sh!t, unless you got all kinds of time to waste troubleshooting, and don't mind not getting the full potential out of your car. But just IMO. :)

yeah, i read a thread once where someone had that problem. search for it.

I got under the car today and was able to move both rods... It's something else so I'm going to continue troubleshooting!

Hey Mike dude! I'll try to give you a call tomorrow and see how your progress has been going.
In the meantime, try teeing your boost gauge into one of the nipples off of the y-pipe to see what boost level you're seeing pre-piping. |
