Street port and aircare (smog test)

Hi guys. I've got a question is it possible to pass aircare(smog test) with street ported 13b?
Also what kind of gas is it better to use?
Any tips&tricks?
Thank you.

Get or borrow a newer catalytic converter.
If you can, Ive heard of people leaning out the fuel delivery. The last time i needed to get one done Greg staff at Staffs automotive in NV ran mine through a few times. It wasnt ported but had a rich map loaded on my PFC. Thats what he did in the end was lean it out. Have you taken it through yet to see where you are at? If you fail by a great deal and are stuck there are a few good shops around to get you through. You are allowed 3 monthes insurance after a failed inspection to get repairs and its $23.00 for every retest.
Or move to the Vancouver Island, Bowen Island, Sunshine Coast or Squamish!
Good luck!

You can but it will take some doing. 87 octane is better for emissions as it burns faster, but obviously don't beat on the car while you run it. 94 octane that is E10 or better can also help as the ethonal burns cleaner. The OEM cats are best. More then anything it's about making sure you're not running too rich and not running to much advance which leads not Nox. There are also a few other tricks that you can find if you search the forums ;)

While I don't have to worry about emissions testing where I live I have heard of people running almost strait alcohol to pass when needed. You just run your tank almost dry put in enuff alky to get you there and pass and fill up immediately after. You'd have to baby it while on alky and take it easy on it till the tank after is used but it is suppose to work if all else fails.

A lot depends on what kind of 'streetport' it is. Recently a guy passed smog here in NJ with an IRP stage 1 streetport..... that's not happening with the standard stage 3/single turbo port. These are dirty cars to begin with, so you're fighting an uphill battle especially once you change the port timing.

Go talk Mark at Racing Greed in Port Coquitlam. If anybody is gonna get it through aircare it will be him.

I'd suggest Marko at ForceFed in Abbotsford

Forcefed suks balls, I second RG, but i think Mark is PT know, hes back in school

I just insure under Territory Z with ICBC, its a little more in premiums,

but dont have to worry about stupid annual aircare - just the hassle of installing the stock cat and going in for loading the map..meh!

Yea good to know thanks.

OT: But anyways if forcefed sucks who else is there to use for engine rebuilds and tuning?

Care to back up your comments, or are you just running your mouth? If your looking to trash talk take it to the lounge. If you have a legitimate issue use the buying/selling section.

I've never heard anything bad about ForceFed and know it to be one of the best shops around from personal experience. To the op, do some research, don't just take some randoms word for it, call around or check the buying/selling feedback section.
