strange BOOST Patterns

I got a question that has been bugging me about my boost pattern..

I got a 94 BB, mods include: dp cb intake.. that's it.. also got a boost gauge and ast..

i take my car out to the track, and my consistent boost hits 7-8psi max..

but when i'm on the street i can hit 8-11psi simple..

i'm not sure wat the hell is the problem.. it pulls so much harder on the street than on the track which is very strange to me.. not sure what to look at!

has anyone encountered these problems? any help would be greatly appreciated..

One of your turbo control solenoids might be failing at very high temps. On the street, you don't get the temps up enough for it to stick open, but it can fail with the SUPER high underhood temps at the track.

so underhood temps could lead to tcs failure? is there any kind of mod i can do to reduce these temperatures, would a vented hood help?
