Stock Solenoids
 

Hey all. I have a 93 fd with a T-04E turbo and I am trying to get rid of some ugly wiring. I'm wondering if I can just cut out the rat's nest that controlled the stock twins. I'm apprehensive about it but I've seen it done. Is it as easy as just cutting them out? Now is the time to do it for me since I am rebuilding the engine. Let me know what you think. Thanks guys.

As long as your ECU isn't looking for them, yes you can cut them out. Running T-04E, I'm under the impression you are using a programmable aftermarket ECU in which case it shouldn't care about the solenoids.

My ecu is remapped but I dont have a programmable ecu. It is a stock ecu that has been changed.

Then you'll most likely need to use resistors in place of the solenoids so the ECU "thinks" they are still there.

Any idea on what kind of ohms I'll need for those resistors?

360 ohm 1/2 watt Resistors.

who did the install?

Carib Racing out of Daytona Beach did the install. I just bought the 7 in March and I am already rebuilding the motor. Just got a new rotor housing yesterday and the rebuild will start as soon as I get a gasket kit and all the seals. I'm shooting to be done by March. Thanks for the info fellas, I'm still debating on whether to get rid of that rat's nest or not.
