Stock I/C Fan mod
 

I have two racing brake cooling fans integrated into my stock I/C unit.
The set up was tight but serves two purposes, first it keeps a constant flow of air to the I/C and second it provides relatively cool air to the engine area. The I/C is not longer just a heat sink. These fans do have considerable ability to move air fast. I know its not as good as some but a 50 dollar investment doing a considerable better job over stock. I run low boost (7 psi) so it is doing a good job as I see it.

do you have them sucking from the engine, or blowing into the engine?

do you have cfm they move? more pics? they look good and for 7psi, it should be fine. btw, how come your only running 7psi?

At speed they probably cause more harm than good. (Disrupting airflow)

They would be cool for fighting heat soak as long as they can pull a decent enough amount of air.

Curious to hear the CFM numbers too. Where did you purchase them?

I don't know the cfm rating but they are formidable. They are small in size but draw 4 amps each and thats no small electrical load. They draw their air from outside the engine bay. I would compare their air flow to a pair of large hair dryers each. I have a bigger one an 8 amp unit which I may use to feed the intake air supply. 7 psi is a safe level for an old fart as well as the engine. I might bump it up later. I have a street port and new twins with about 6 K now on them. I just installed a set of Tokico 5 way and lowered the car. I have a solid diff brace and a trans mount fabricated as well as a big cooling fan on the oil cooler. Moved all my solenoids out to the fender wells as well as the coils and fuse box. I need to replace a few pillow bushings and get a 4 wheel alignment.

I have a fan on my stock oil cooler, also a temp gauge. When it gets hot it only takes a few minutes to cool it down. It's nice to be able to control the temp without having to jump on the freeway. Theres not much room there but it can be done.

got pics of oil cooler fans? interested in the idea.

I didn't reconnect the double throttle solenoid and kept the purge and turbo solenoids in the stock location, because you can get to them easy. I did however move the other 7 out to the fender well area. I used solid late model plastic lines and there fittings. It works fine. I will say its a big job pluming the system. Most guys would not be able to handle the logistics of the project. I have been a drive ability tech for 20 years and have done a lot of fuel injection work.
