Stock fuel rail potential
I serached but didn't come up with what I am looking for.
What is the max potential of the stock fuel rails. I ask because I have heard of some people tapping the stock fuel rails for AN fittings. My goal is to use the following setup Ken bell boost a pump Supra fuel pump 550 primaries 1600 secondaries supplement with methanol This will be used on a large street ported 35R 1.06 build. I am trying to decide if it is neccesary to replace the fuel rails...both only the secondary etc etc. Thanks for your help |
I'm not sure if you can put 1600cc injectors in the stock secondary rail or even bore out a stock injector to that size, the max I've heard of was 1300cc in stock secondary rail. Your best bet is to mill down the primary rail a bit and use 850cc secondary injectors in the primary rail, then use 1200cc or 1300cc injectors (bored out 850cc injectors) in the secondary rail. As far as the meth injection would go use a 1000cc or greater nozzle.

you really dont' need 850 primaries. it's just more hassle to get the car to idle right. and you don't need an aftermarket primary rail unless you are looking for stupid power.

Your gonna have to change your secondary rail to a top-feed one to run 1600's. 850 primaries is a horrible idea with all the options available now. RX7store sells an affordable secondary rail only kit that comes with 1600's and fpr as well as everything needed to install it...

I bought a set of used "1300cc" injectors off a forum member that flowed 1580cc's when they were flow tested by Witchunter. I run them as if they were 1600's and I haven't had any problems. I also run 850cc primaries in a milled down stock fuel rail.
I've been running 850cc primaries for years and have never had any idle/starting problems whatsoever. I think it all just comes down to tuning and making sure that they are properly installed. |
