stock exhaust

I have a question, i think my new FD already has a DP and MP but i am not sure, could someone post some pics of the stock exhaust. The pipes i have have a little rust all over them and i will be posting new pics tongiht of it so someone can tell me, thanks again, while i was under there i foudn that the pressure plate is orange, so i believe that she already has a centerforce clutch in her, what color is the stock pressure plate, thanks.

not sure about the clutch, but the dp will be just a straight pipe. the stock precat will have a bubble in it. if the dp is stainless steel, it should not have any rust on it.

Down pipes and mid pipes are just straight pieces of 3" diameter pipe, usually stainless steel. The stock pre-cat (which is what the downpipe replaces) is a big, probably 5" diameter unit and the stock main cat is about 10" wide X 20" long or so, it basically looks like a muffler when viewed from underneath.
Stainless will NOT rust, by the way.

looking at pics of downpipes it is the same shape as the aftermarket ones, but there is the smaller part coming off the 2nd turbo that is about 7 inches long and oval shaped, i see nothing that looks like a cat, is the stock cat removable from the downpipe on the stock exhaust? If it is, my DP is aftermarket and not stainless steel

Here is the stock pre-cat.

A downpipe is essentially the same length, but it is 3" diameter stainless or mild steel the whole way.

After market downpipes and straight pipes (mid-pipes) are either mild steal (not optimal) or stainless steal. They are not hard to detect. Jack your car up and look underneath. If you see a cat or a precat, as the one in the picture, then no straight pipes. If the pipe is uniform in size, 3 inch diameter, all the way to the muffler, then you are in business.

Your downpipe may not be stainless steal. Mild steal is occasionally used. They, however, are poorer in quality.

thanks for the pick, i had a feeling that it was a aftermarket DP and mid pipe, and now i know, thanks for the pics, any idea on the stock color of the preesure plate, because i dont feel like taking the tranny off to find out.
