Stereo Problem

I have the factory Bose system in my '93 touring, and the other day the left rear subwoofer started to buzz whenever the stereo is on. It still plays music but it is very distorted, with the high pitched buzzing. Has anyone experienced something like this? Any advice or suggestions before I start to take things apart would be great. Thanks, Bart.

I didn't know there was a left rear sub woofer. I thought there were the two door speakers, the dash, and one sub. ? ? ? ? If it turns out you lost just the sub woofer let me know as I have one for 75 plus shipping. Jack

I have the same symptoms with my 93 but it turned out to be the left door speaker. I took it apart and it turned out to be a torn speaker diaphram. I'm just ignoring it until I upgrade the whole sound system. I was going to just change the two door speakers but since they have their own amplifiers regular speakers are not compatible. Since I plan to mount a gauge pod where the dash speaker is I just put it on my never ending wish list. Nothing wrong with dreaming.:rlaugh:

Technically there are two rear subs i believe, at least because the sound is only coming from the left side... also there are two sets of wires that go into the unit, so that leads me to believe that there are at least two parts. It isnt the door speaker, I have narrowed it down to the sub. If i cant track it down I guess its time to treat myself to a new stereo

Their only one subwoofer in the system, its on the left in the rear in the part where it gets the widest.

That is true. I was bored so I went outside to check it out.
