steering rack rebuild/replace options

just looking for a solution to my steering rack issue. i pulled mine out and when i took the bellow off the inner tie rod, it was filled with ps fluid. i knew i had a small leak but this was ridiculous. im writing this rack off as bad. i would like to get it rebuilt or just buy another one but wanted some input as to what others have done about their rack problems.

The steering rack is really pretty hardy. I'd just get a good used one and be good to go.

I rebuilt mine. Wasn't hard, just followed a write-up I got here.

not a refurbish...... a rebuild. a complete disassembly of the rack and everything replaced. i called maval and they said it will be 259 to rebuild it plus shipping both ways so im going to do that.

Just to update the thread since I was contacted about my experience. I'll copy and paste what I told another member in a pm. They specifically asked about turn around time.

That's just me. I could just be paranoid and completely wrong of course. I would say give it a shot and if they try to feed you some nonsense then at least youre ready for it. I highly suggest marking your rack in a very not so obvious way to verify you get YOUR rack back. They removed the serial number off of whatever they sent me intentionally. Mine was very firmly affixed to the body. It wouldn't have been possible for it to just fall off.

This whole situation was about 2 weeks from start to finish and that was mostly shipping time.
