Steering Boots
I need to replace the steering boot (the one that goes from the steering wheel to the lower rack) and i looked in the service manuals but it doesn't have a part number for that specific one  so i was wondering are they all the same? Can I just use the same one that the right an left side tie rods use?

Might be able to help
If it is number 2 in this link picture:
STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY for 1993 Mazda RX-7 then the part number should be FD0132411B Have a look. I have not ordered from them, but you can always call a Mazda Dealer. Seems to be pretty cheap anyway... |
or you can just order a non-Mazda brand from rockauto.com
|
Seems to be #4 but theres no part number
|
I recently redid both sides with boots which I ordered from RockAuto.com
The aftermarket boots are actually rubber. Compared to the factory part, which is plastic, the aftermarket replacements are better, IMHO. I would recommend to do both sides, as well as replacing your tie rod ends, since you are already in the "area". |
Yeah its not the ones on both sides there is only one its from the steering column thats the one i need

Here is a picture of the one i need can someone help i need it asap to pass a safety inspection

They must be very strict. The boot doesn't affect steering at all, just keeps the joint clean.
The boot is only available if you purchase the intermediate steering shaft, but the shaft part number is discontinued. I will post a pic for you, maybe someone has a used one to sell you. Attachment 571464 |
Shoot ok, yeah they are I'm in japan and if any boot is torn it will not pass, i was thinking of just getting one of those split universal boots to just throw on there and see if they care
