Steam + Ast= Wtf
Yesterday I had steam spew out of my AST like a hot kictchen Kettle or something it abruptly stopped like if something blocked it then, about 5 minutes later it started again at the same rate. Does that make any type of sense?

ut oh
i had the same problem. car didn't start 2 days after. some say i blew an o-ring seal thingie search for champagne bubble test i have to bring mine back to dallas for the mechanic to look at. :( |
is it the stock one...maybe there is a hairline crack in it.
|
get the cap checked. was it running hot? was it low on coolant before?
|
is it stock or aftermarket? where is the steam coming from?
|
i had the same problem. ur car is off and you just listen to it hiss air out of the overflow tube for a couple minutes then u hear it stop. Then a minute later it starts up again. A true factor showing that your AST works. but also means that u have an amount of air in your system to relieve so much air to sound like a steaming kettle. Do you bog at start up or anything?(troubleshooting for bad o-ring)

Check the cap first. Then worry about testing for an o-ring failure. |
The stockers suck...common problem with them. Check the cap and for cracks.

I have an upgradded AST and the same thing happend to me. It ended up just being a faulty cap. So check that, but if thats not the case you might be in for some fun.
