Startup idle problems....
 
Not your typical idle problems, I tried all the fore mentioned tips of making the adjustments and what not... none of that worked, but heres what happens. I start the car, it runs over 2K until the thermostat opens and the fluids start cycling through the radiator. So what in the throttle body is triggered by the fluids? I would assume thats whats causing the high idle until the coolant reaches the throttle body.... any help would be awesome....

The wax thing on the firewall side of throttle body still connected?

I dont know what to look for to be honest, I have heard of this but I dont know what to look for.

You know...on cold start ups.. its suppose to idle high if you still have the thermal wax in place. Idle should come down around once you get past 60 degrees or so...

yeah thats exactly what it does.... Is there a way to remove that so when i start it, the idle will just go to normal instead of sitting at 2k for 5 minutes?

yea, most wire the throttle closed on the firewall side. The thing the thermal wax pushes.

With the engine completely cold, go into your Commander etc --> sensor/sw screen. On the left side locate "VTA1" and "VTA2," your full and narrow range sensor voltages. Write down what you see there. Start the car up and watch those voltages. When you reach about 82 C/180F water temp , go back and record those VTA voltages again and post everything in this thread.

Ok
VTA1 cold=0.74
VTA2 cold=1.64

After 82 degree water temps

VTA1=0.61
VTA2=1.31


I dont think much matters now, I think my engine is toast. It was low on coolant so i filled it up cranked it, puffed white smoke for a few minutes then some black smoke and now it barely wants to idle.... oh well 93K on the original motor isnt tooo bad....
