Starting Problem
 

So here is the Story, 93 FD is having some issues during start up. In the morning during cold startup I start the car and it starts fine. I drive it to work and park it from 8:30am then I go for lunch at 12 o'clock. So when I try to start it, it wont start. It takes about 4 tries then it starts and the engine cranks over normally. I go home to grab a bite to eat (30 min later) then I go back to start the car to go back to work and it starts with no problem. Go back to work from 1:00pm to 4:30 and it does have some issues trying to start. The next day the same story. What I dont undertand is that when it sits overnight, it does not have problem starting. Only thing I can think of is maybe I need to change the spark plug cable? I replaced the Plugs 3000km ago so those are new. What else could this be? Thanks in advance

have you pulled out the plugs and take a look at them? and yeah, it could the plug wires too

I didnt check the Plugs becuase they have less then 3000km so I didnt feel that there was a need for it, I could be wrong. Another thing I can think it can be is the Fuel Filter? The car drives good and boost level is normal.

checking the plugs is to see if they are wet which could indicate some flooding. Or yes, could be a clogged fuel filter but that is going to be a PIA to change :D
And could be many other possibilities, such as bad ignition coils or bad injectors, that's why you need to start from either spark or fuel and check the things one by one. Just get some new plug wires and see if problem is still there. Someone else might have the same problem and maybe they can chime in. I had a somewhat similar problem, and it turn out to be that my fuel pump was giving up on me...........so good luck hunting :D

I found out that the air pump hose had burst open. Theres two hoses connected to the air pump, One is one the front connected to the airbox and the other is on the rear of the pump. The one on the rear of the pump burst. I replaced the hose and now it start ok, I dont know if this makes any sence but I dont get it.

Check your fuel thermosensor. You may be experiencing fuel boil-off in the rail. If the thermosensor detects that the fuel is "warm/hot", the computer adds extra fuel enrichment when cranking. this is commonly called post-start enrichment in stand-alone PCMs.
