starting issues
I just dropped a new Series 7 into my series 6. I used the series 6 loom . She seems to want to start and she turns over strongly but wont fire. I'm thinking its the ignition cos I have fuel pressure. I thought it might have been flooded so I did the unflooding procedure ( there was no fuel or white mist through the plug holes when it turned over anyway) I checked the plugs and although not brand new they are fine.
I thought it might be the coils but I have swapped them out for another set and still no starting. Basically when I turn the key she turns over strong and after every 10 - 15 or so turns she "pops" and litttle bit of white mist comes out the exhaust but not much really. I was thinking - When I put the S7 engine in I changed everything over to S6 ( loom, sensors etc..) but I kept the S7 coils which also meant keeping the S7 stock fuel lines ( the coils bolt to it them under the UIM ) , I'm wondering wether these hard lines are different to the S6 hardlines under the UIM. When I took my S6 block out I labelled the rubber fuel lines going to the hardlines but since I've changed to S7 hardlines maybe they are different hence stuffing up the direction of fuel ( feed etc...) |
