In this thread there is some info about what you are experiencing, I believe. |
i meashured the flywheel all around and it seems to be the same in thickness. what do you think would happen if i just removed the dowel pins and bolted up the pressure plate to it. or should i just try to get a refund? and go with the RB flywheel.

Next time, call the vendor and try to work it out with them before posting please. If you can't install it right with the part as is, don't install it.
|
whats your problem. how bout next time you save your ass bag coments for yourself. also i am going to try to work it out with the vendor but its a saturday and they dont open till monday. and since this is a tech site too i figured someone might be able to give me some advice.
|
Walk away from SR, just walk away.
|
im going to try to talk to them monday about it. i have heard that other people have relly liked the flywheel. also i have heard that you dont really need the dowel pins for install. so i was trying to frigure out what i might have for options if they dont work with me. theres alot of people on this site that ask for tech help and suggestions about stuff like this and dont recieve rude replies.

dont fuck with rynberg..... hes the man... haha.. trust me
and i wasnt sayin you dont serch bro.... dont need to get deffensive. no hard feelings lol |
You've got a big fricking chip on your shoulder buddy.
The dowels are not really even supposed to be removable....if something's not lining up, then either you aren't doing something right or they sent you the wrong part. It's that simple. |
ive been reading on the site and rotary resurection was talking about how the thickness off a flywheel he installed was out of spec. and i meashured mine. it seemed porportional all around. the dowels are just threaded in, most are just pressed in. and im not doing anything wrong. i am just trying to figure out if worst come to worst what my options are going to be. also finding out that the flywheel didnt line up with the presshure plate. then seeing that sr seems to be on the shady side makes me not to happy about my investment.it almost lines up and when i meashured the dowels they are close in size but off a little.

My SR flywheel (11 lb) lined up perfectly with the ACT pressure plate, but I was initially sent the wrong flywheel (lightweight steel). You were sent the wrong part.

Your reply certainly was. |
The function of the dowels is to precisely center the clutch [on the flywheel]; something that the bolts are not designed to do. This is important because even a small amount of centering error can result in a substantial imbalance resulting in vibration and worse. Additionally, different clutch covers are designed for different depths of step on the flywheel in order to get the clamping load correct. Bottom line: If it doesn't fit, find out why it doesn't fit and get the correct part. Otherwise chances are you will not be pleased with the outcome.
