 looks nice, polish some stuff up and youll be "blingin" ;)

rotorbrain 01-07-03 01:57 PM

how are you gonna fit a strut tower bar in there? looks like the plenum runs up higher than the strut towers greatly.

Lookin good, You better get a video of it starting up. :)

turbojeff 01-07-03 03:55 PM

Amazing work.

I imagine when you say "finished" that might be test drive, not really done. I can see that your exhaust is gonna absolutely barbeque the PS rack.

Turbo plumbing fills up the engine compartment pretty quickly. Where do the headlights go?

How much clearance between the downpipe and drivers side strut tower?

Jeff

 Wow !!

93 R1 01-07-03 05:27 PM

What turbo setup are you running?

lookin' good

puma 01-07-03 05:41 PM

are you going to be the first one to do this?

BrianK 01-07-03 09:08 PM

you shoulda had a V8.

hehehe j/k - looks good, very interesting... can't wait to see some numbers out of that combo. Any idea what the full weight of the engine is with all the plumbing attached (not just the block)?

FstFD3SPOWER 01-07-03 09:44 PM

Very observant, as you can see this motor is stock. However, we have added synthetic headlight fluid and moly coated muffler bearings. We had added curb feelers, but feared they might add significant drag so we removed them. I suspect the T-series compressor wheel will allow us to slightly bump up the power, perhaps as much as 230hp. That is a 10hp gain!!! Also, on our dyno we gained 6hp from just pretending the car still had a rotary motor.

jacobcartmill 01-08-03 01:09 AM

will a vg30dett fit in an FD engine bay? i was thinking it would be too wide to fit in that narrow engine bay, but you all have fit some crazy shit into these engine bays... what about that 2jzgte fromthe supras?

stevecod 01-08-03 01:21 AM

  :bigthumb:

very nice.

BlackR1 01-08-03 01:56 AM

vg30dett will not fit in an FD... it hardly fits in a z32 =P

I know I gave you some shit on putting an sr20 in an FD for drag race purposes...but I gotta give you props on a very clean looking install

It's funny how in one thread you will get flamed hard by everyone, and then in another thread (on the same topic) you get praised by everyone.

Good work; can't wait to see numbers.

It will be ready to go on the Dyno, the exhaust is fairly close to the ps rack but should not be an issue... the headlights are molded on to the front bumper, they are set that we custom made here, I have about 3/4" between the downpipe and the strut tower but that will be filled with a heatshield...

Also someone said something about a strutbar... well after it is up and running I am going to fabricate one

nice work. the nich thing about it, is you are going to be able to much more because of a lower overall weight, than most of the other slightly modded nissans packing the same engine.

good luck in finishing it up..

The hood clears by about a 1/8"

Shaun

Kahren 01-12-03 04:37 PM
