SR Ultimate vs. stock rad.

Before installing the SR Ultimate this weekend, I filled it to meaure the capacity - got approx. 116 oz. Then the stock radiator was 48 oz. The SR has 2 rows and a full 2 in. core vs. 1 row, 1 in. I remember someone posting the Fluidyne capacity a few months back - speak up if someone remembers.

I don't have a real temp guage for real data but the fans are taking much longer to cut-in and don't stay on nearly as long so that extra capacity is helping. The idiot light "I mean stock temp guage" is reading about the same a little shy of half way but doesn't rise to half when sitting in traffic.

Installation was straight forward except one of the four mounts for the a/c radiator (damn, forgot if that's the condensor or evap.) would not clear the lip on the side of the radiator. It fits real tight and won't cause a problem but next time I do work with the radiator out I'll modify. Then if you have an aluminum M2 CAI, I had to cut a notch in the plastic fan shroud so that the intake box could slide down all the way. I was afraid more modifcation would be needed for the large size but I won't complain.

Overall very pleased for the $499 sale price. SR posted this sale to the BIG LIST a couple of weeks ago but didn't say how long it lasts. Reference the Rx7 List if calling to try and get one. Jack
