Squeaky rear hatch...
 

My rear hatch makes a squeaky noice when driving, any advice on fixing it?

There have been a few threads on this problem in the past. Try WD40 in the hatch hinges. They're kind of a pain to get to, but you should be able to get some lube to penetrate if you're using the spray straw. It may take a few applications to really clean it out. I know mine still squeaked a little bit after putting WD40 on, but it went away soon after. Reapplying should speed that process up.

As he said I used a little white grease to lubricate all the moving parts, then also the parts that possibly came into contact with eachother. Not only did it work on the trunk but also the hood latch.

If you have the finances, dyno mat the back hatch, it helps a lot.

Here is what I did to completely remove any noise. I took the plastic off that surrounds the "latch" part of the hatch and loosened up the 2 bolts that hold it. I slid the bracket down all the way and retightened the 2 bolts. Now the hatch needs to be slammed a little to close but man what a tight fit and no more noise. You might want to try that,

I've bean looking at this problem on my car as well. I was wondering if the rubber stoppers could be the culprit since they're 20 years old.

I fixed this on mine by applying some self fusing silicone tape to the latch striker. Electrical tape can work too. Use it on your hood striker too if that squeaks. Then put it around your door strikers if you have to slam the door closed.

Rubber stoppers. That is what squeaks on mine. I wipe them down with some silicone lube or WD-40 and the noise goes away for a year or so.

One of these days I will replace them..

I just got rid of this myself, it was a pretty loud squeaking at the smallest perturbance. A little lube on the upper hinges didn't seem to make a difference, though it did stop a squeak when I opened or closed the hatch. I cleaned the rubber gasket, and gave the gaskets a light wipe with a rag sprayed with Armor-All. What a difference! (But now I hear other quiet rattles and noises from the interior - as expected.) Haven't used Armor-All much, but it seemed to work here. Other rubber treatments may do the same thing as well. I also lubed the latch, but I really think it was the gaskets.

....I now also use plumbers white tape over the electrical tape and it lasts quite a bit

I fixed mine by raising the bumper (stoppers) a bit. They are adjustable. This make the hatch tighter when closed.
