3rdgenluvr is right! EASE off and modulate the throttle and correct with your steering, always look where you want to be heading and your body will do the right thing...most of the time.

NEVER let off the gas completely! or hit the brakes! by hitting the brakes you also induce more oversteer. When you let go of the gas completely the rear tires will suddenly gain traction and snap you back so fast you'll start spinning the other way. SO DON'T let off the gas! I see too many ppl thinking it is so easy "just let off the gas dude"

here's an informative site
http://www.turnfast.com
read it and goto your local autox or track sessions and have fun :)

PS for those interested, since they had to make it easier to play for everyone, the cars tend to understeer in the game, unless you turn off all the traction control stuff. So turn them off to get a better simulation.

I borrow my cousin viper last week, man that car is powerful. If the tire are cold it would juss spin.. when the tires are warm it would still break lose but not as much. it was the hardest car i ever driven.. the tire would break lose at any rpm, in 1st or 2nd gear... this car made my fd feel slow.. it really put my driving skill to the test.. that car made 421 hp to the wheels

Ur story is just about identical to mine about 2 weeks ago!

IF hanging the rear end out on a car is anythng like motorcycles the LAST thing you wanna do when it steps out is get off the throttle. If anythng, modulate it. Ever see a bike highside on TV? Well thats from the guy getting off the gas. The rear tire goes from sideslipping(no traction) to rotating again (I want traction NOW). My guess cars react in the same manner. If Im wrong please set me straight! Had I not came completely off the gas I might of had a more 'controlled' slide rather than what occurred.

The internet is awesome in this regard.......Learn from others!!! And dont get so cocky thinking nothing will ever happen. And the most important part of all, dont put other ppls lives in jeapardy.

Be Safe guys!

Well told account of your misfortune. Sorry about it, and thanks for posting it. For some (sadistic?) reason, it makes me feel a little better. I think I agree with your ease off/modulation theory...

Relative to your most important point about other peoples lives: I didn't want to mention this, but my wife was in the car when I pulled my bonehead meneuver. Not to mention the poor dude in the pickup that had to swerve out of the slow lane to miss us. MY STORY COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE.

Yes, for practice, I've shut down all GT3 driving aids. Makes for a much more realistic driving scenario.;)
