Spring in LSD
 

Got an LSD for a 93 RX7 and sitting inside one side of the LSD (where the shaft should go in) is this spring. I have looked at the oil seals, in the LSD, and at the halfshafts. I have also looked through the FSM with no luck on finding where this spring goes. I don't know if someone dropped it in there by mistake or if it belongs somewhere. Would like to know before I install the LSD in the car though. Thanks for any help.

Can't tell 100 percent cause I'm on my phone, i think it is is from the oil seal for the halfshaft. Since it isn't chewed I wouldn't worry about the diff.

looked at the oil seal, but couldn't tell for sure if it was supposed to have a spring or where it would go if it did. There isn't one on the other side either. Maybe I will just order a couple new ones. They don't seem to be very expensive.

It goes inside the flagged part of the seal. On the part facing the inside of the diff. I am sure they are supposed to be there.
