Sport Compact Car Ultimate Street Car Challenge RX-7
mods were tastefully done, 397hp, steve kan tuned and all........ still lost and ranked dead last overall
pretty disappointing for a car that was labeled as a ready "track car" from the factory. it's all in January 2005 issue of SCC |
:tear:
|
Dead last, you have to be joking me!!!!
|
i wish i was kidding, but it did rank DEAD LAST :(
but on a ligther note, this was the first rotary powered vehicle that didn't blow-up during their tests |
3rd gen technical info section!! You have got to be kidding me!!
Get to the lounge!! And didn't you hear about this when the competition was done? https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hlight=SCC+rx7 Let's get up to date mmmk!! |
let me guess, they picked an Evo, right? I hate that piece of shit
|
naw.... v6 supercharged Mr2.. lol
|
We knew five months ago . ;)
|
IIRC,
That car was only finished a couple hours before they left for the contest, and was not well sorted with tons of new mods, and suffered teething and reliability problems. Anything that would have been "ready" from the factory was pretty much removed and replaced. Steve is a very cool and knowledgeable guy, but folks who "track" their cars regularly know it takes a while to really sort the car out with alot of mods... that was alot to expect of that car. They probably would have been better off taking an already sorted car like one of Fritz's (maybe Wael's old car) or Damian's out there. |
next time we need to get a 20b in there to kick some rice ass
|
Damn,
oh well at least there was an rx7 in the competition :) |
10+ year old car competing with the top ten performance cars in the world.............. Be proud!
|
what place did the MKIV take?? i bet they did better than us..:(

And from the sound of things the RX-7 didn't compete, it got its ass kicked. |

Yeah, another example of a car not sorted out BEFORE the competition. how many does that make where it was READY to go to a performance competition just days before? Peter did it all the time in the car and driver tests. Or tuned once it got to the event or tuned at the event? HAVE THE DAMN CAR READY AND SORTED OUT BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK YOU WILL EVEN GETS THE CALL TO COMPETE!!! Quite changing things hoping it will make it better, but to change that event winning part, you won't have it done until the event.

i also thought that kan's CYM 20b was the one that was going to compete as he mentioned in one of the issues in RX tuner magazine. but i guess he didn't get to finish it in time, and just substituted it w/ the 13b VR
|
the 20b is next time, if it gets voted in. The red one was the one that competed this last time was the one that got voted in...as far as I can recall.

20b is still getting worked out... last I checked it had some timing issues or something... I need to d/l the video I took of it running open headers.... that was some crazy sh*t!

but on a ligther note, this was the first rotary powered vehicle that didn't blow-up during their tests - 1st overall : Hung-Jen Hung's yellow FD - 1st in class (4cyl & rotary) : Hung-Jen Hung's yellow FD - 2nd in class for drag race: My montego blue FD, with an already-cracked apex seal Neither of our cars blew because of the event. Mine was already blown before it started. :) -Max |

why does any one even care about this?
A. it's SCC. B. it's not like it shows which car is "better" in general or anything silly like that. it's just one silly competition from one rice mag. |
