spark plugs man!
 

so I just finished changing my spark plugs, and god I never want to do that again. A stub handle ratchet would help, but oh well. I hope I didn't do anything wrong. I'll post pics of my old ones, lemme know what you think. :D

I still don't see why everyone has such a problem. I just remove the throttle body elbow and go to work. Takes me maybe 10-15 minutes tops. It would take me more time to get the car up in the air and on jackstands to do it from below!

BIG help when you put antisieze on the threads (everyone does this, right? :)). After you break the plug loose, you can just unscrew it by hand.

That's what I was thinking. With the elbow gone, there's plenty of room.

Yah, I may take the elbow off next time, had trouble frm below, but mainly because of my large ratchet.

On a different note, I changed my plugs because my car was breaking up up top and was also taking a long time to crank(3-5seconds), figured my plugs were becoming fouled(along with a fuel smell), and now I still notice the breaking up up top and takes just as long to start. I know my car is running rich(and I am going to tune it asap). Any ideas? :/

Sounds like it may be flooding. Have you ever measured the compression?

I can't understand why people have a hard time changing plugs. It takes me maybe 10 minutes from the top without removing a darn thing.

No I haven't and I need to, but I figured I'll do it when I get it tuned. Its a streetported motor with less than 3k miles on it.

Flooding sounds exactly like what I was thinking, I'm running 1300cc secondaries and a cosmo fuel pump on what I think is the stock map on the Apexi PFC. After the car warms up, if i turn it off for a few minutes then come back and start it up, it will stumble around 500-600rpms, and I'll usually give it a little gas bring the rpms to 1k-1.2k and let it sit for a few seconds, then it idles just fine at 800-900rpms pulling great vacuum. Think that could be the problem?

I dont see how it would take 10 minutes unless you have tiny arms and hands and Xray vision.

takes me 30 mins top side and I have pretty big arms and hands.

i'd say it takes me about 15 minutes or so and i've got big hands/arms, i dont remove anything but its a tight squeeze, the part that takes the longest for me is keeping track of the plug wires so i dont put them on the wrong plug :tonque:, so i just do it one at a time instead of doing it the faster way and taking all the plugs out at once and putting them all back in then putting the wires back on... its definitly a lot more work than i would have expected...
