something's wrong.....it won't go in gear.
 

I've just installed an ACT clutch and heavy duty pressure plate. Well, the dag-on thing won't go in gear now because the clutch would not dis-engage completely. I did remove the slave cylinder during the install (I did auto to manual swap), but I bled it at least 7 times after I put it back. I kept thinking there was air in the line, that's why I bled it so many times. The pressure plate does not seem to be pulled back far enough to dis-engage the clutch. What could the problem be? I even adjusted the clutch pedal so that there's no play, still doesn't work. Thanks guys (and gals).

did you use the clutch alignment tool? i don't know. just throwing out procedure errors that could've happened.

yes, I used the clutch alignment tool. The transmission is bolted into the motor without any problems, as the input shaft from the transmission goes through the clutch splines. So the clutch is centered and splined to the input shaft. With the clutch pedal fully depressed, the TO bearing is about 3/4" from touching the tranmission. How much further is it supposed to move to fully disengage the clutch?

Look through the inspection to see you the clutch release basket is properly snapped in place between the pressure plate/clutch disk. If so, have someone depress clutch pedal while looking through the inspection port to see any movement and maybe gain a better understanding of what maybe wrong.
