Some Questions

First off, I found a plug that comes out of the oil pan on the driver's side and it is unplugged. I've been looking through the parts guide and can't figure out exactly what it is. Here's a picture (sorry for the quality...it's a camera phone)...

Also, I found a black cylindrically shaped tank with a rubber hose coming off of it. However, the hose is cut and I'm not really sure what this piece is either. It is right by the driver's side rear axle. Here's a picture, too.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

Don't know for sure but that tank with the hose might be your evap cannister for the gas tank, i'll check my shop manual later if noone else chimes in.

yea i believe that hose from the evap canister and is supposed to be open like that, mine is the same way.

Yeah if it is the evap cannister it's just a vent tube, doesn't go anywhere in particular, that's probably what it is.

Thanks everyone! I finally found it in the manual after looking through it like forever. Just wanted to be sure that hose wasn't snipped if it wasn't supposed to be.

Now, the plug coming from the oilpan? I'm guessing it's a temp sensor maybe?

Where on the oil pan does it go to? might be something like a low oil level sensor, could be a temp sensor also.

It's at the bottom-ish of the oil pan, so I'm guessing it's the low oil level sensor. Nice to know it's not hooked up :wallbash: Oh well, I check my oil very frequently so it's not a problem. I'll check in the manual again to see if that's what it is for sure..

Thanks!
:)
