A few more.
My left front rubs when I am cornering hard. It sounds like the screw that holds the fender liner in. I probably just need to roll that one in a little more. |
What kind of rubber did you go with?
|
BFG KDW
They stick very well, but I don't have any comparison except SO-3s on my stock wheels. |
nice man
i wanna sell my wheels now ;) |
Nice choice
Did you roll them yourself?
Did you crack your paint at all? Look very nice BTW... I have same wheels and tires, and yet to install them (in the middle of changing bushings and some other loose ends) Looks like you have same offset too; +38,+40? Again, nice choices. |
Rotoboy, Your car looked so damn good, that's why I went with them...So it's your own fault. :)
I had a body shop roll the rear fenders when I had the back half rapainted. I rolled the fronts using the baseball bat method. The sheet metal was thin enough that it didn't take tons of pressure. I used a heat gun to warm the paint before rolling them. It seemed to work well enough. No cracked paint, at least not yet. yup, 38/40 offset Oh yeah, go AF! |
Wow they look great, very meaty. Keep up the good work!

I thought about gold. I really wanted the RMC but that was supposed to be hard to get. I will probably get my car painted a different color in the next year or two and grey is a little more universal.
I think I got a decent deal on the wheels. The tires were nearly 1k though :( |
Those wheels ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! They look amazing !!! What tires are those?????
|
 very nice choice of wheels!
|
Daum!! Those looks sweet.
|
WOW! You and GoodfellaFD3S make me NOT want to sell my FD and put some wheels on lol DAMN That really looks sweet, I had GoodfellaFD3S on my desktop this week to get myself off my busy butt and get mine rollin again. Thanks man! ;D

The car looks Beefy!

Wow... Gorgeous! Deep dish rims abso-friggin-lutely rock!
I must ask a question though: Unless you are a drag fan, why do a lot of guys run such staggered feet? I'm running 235/front 275/rear (bought it that way), and I got rediculous understeer. Maybe it was just the mediocre tires too (Firestone Firehawks). Also, what is the widest fronts that I could run without having to flare the fenders too much? I'd like more meat up front without losing the stock bodylines. Thanks |
Why staggered? I couldn't get this wheel in the proper offset to go with 10" wide on the front. Plus, I don't plan on really pushing it on these tires and wheels, that's what the stock wheels w/victoracers are for. I did however go to a Porsche Club autocross last weekend and didn't notice a big handling imbalance...at the same time beating the closest porsche by over 6 seconds. Poseurs. :D

NICE!!!
What suspension are you running? |
Looks great.... I have the same rims.
A 275/35/18 will give you a little more traction (more sidewall to flex) if you are having difficulties putting the power down. Maybe a thought when the 285's wear out. So do those KD's kick butt or what? You should post your observations on the new combo in the suspension/tires section. Not many reviews to share on the KD's.... would be great to hear more about them. -Mark |
