solenoids???

hey guys, i got a 93 fd.. 5spd, and when i test codes. it shows code 39' witch show to be one of the secondary turbo solenoid. witch makes sense seeming how my secondary doesnt work anymore out of the blue.

i heard to replace one solenoid, you have to buy all of them cuz they're attached???

and other than the solenoid just failing, are there any other things that can cause it to go out???

thanx for all help.

btw my car runs excellent, cept for the secondary turbo.
and everyonce in a while when i first start it just after it warms up it doesnt wanna boost sometimes, the guage goes up to 0'lbs than wont go over, than when i let off the gas it makes like a burp sound, except smooth, anly ideas.

i was thinking my downpipe could be clogged. car has 100k miles no rebuild, no aftermarket dp.

If you're throwing a code for a solenoid, then it's the solenoid causing the problem. Not saying that it couldn't be something else, but you need to get that fixed before you try anything else since you know that it's bad.

kool thanks just wanted to make sure before i go spending money on a new solenoid. anyone know about purchasing the solenoids, whether you can buy them seperate or if you have to buy the rack.

and anyone still know about the boost problem.. let me know thanx.

You can buy them separately. However, you can probably pick up a used one pretty cheap if you just look/post in the For Sale/Wanted section.

download the fsm at the top of the forum, it shows you exactly which solenoids are for what and what needs to be done to get to them and more importantly put everything back together.

wow im an idiot. found out code 39 is for smog. and seeming how i disconnected the airpump, that would make sense.

anyways anyone know how to get the code off the display??

Guess it's good it's not the solenoid. . .wish I could find saxyman990 or someone to give me a lead on the solenoid replacement kit he was selling out here a while back. Let me know if anyone knows anything. . .sorry for the hijack!
