solenoid question

Is there any functional difference between these 2 solenoids? That is, can they be reverse swapped without any problems? BTW, they are the 2 in the rack closest to the firewall.

orange- pressure regulator control
blue- secondary air bypass valve

Thanks.

pretty sure they are all the same.

Anyone have a more definitive answer? ;)

They can be interchanged. The only difference between any of the solenoids on the rack is the location of the filter (which can be removed and replaced on a different nipple if desired)

The parts fiche says no, they can't be swapped. The closest to firewall is pressure regulator control 1481-13-240A, but the one just forward is releif 1 1482-13-240A. Notice the FPR has a blind connection on it's "end", whereas the relief has a tube connection.

No other solenoids can be replaced by the FPR solenoid, BUT you can swap the releif 1 with the turbo control solenoid, third in from the front of the rack. Make sense?

I guess I believe the parts listings over visual comparisons. Sorry for the confusion, maybe saxyman has actually swapped these all before and has direct info. I did my hoses, nothing broke, so I didn't pay super close attention to is all these are the same mechanically and such... :(

I'm pretty sure that the different part numbers are due to the location of the little filter on the end of one nipple (which as I said before is removable).

No matter, I've checked them out thoroughly, and swapped them out many times. I've even gone so far as to open up the casings to check out the internals. I can speak from personal experience that they are basically the same and can be interchanged.

They are the same solenoids they used on the 1st gen, folks...

Move the filter and away you go. :)
