Is this how they come stock?
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1265605301 lol just kidding. I into my build, getting ready to put the engine back in the bay, and i see this. I know i need to replace it. but im so close to mounted. good thing i have til april. :-) |
lulz, what mounts are you planning on going with..?
|
idk. i honestly havent been sold that the mounts will affect me too much. im a street car guy, so i want softer OEM mounts. Im doing everything solid on my build, but im not seeing a reason.
Any input? |
that the driver side? I might have one that I can ship you (free). I'll look when you tell me what side.
|
yes driver side. away from the turbo on a LHD car :-) The other one is fine.
I made a short video for it. and its for sure that one. the other one isnt cracked oddly enough. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shZ6-WL-E_U |
I'm 80% sure I have a spare one in good condition from where I traded mine out for 2 steels. The alum is gray and the steel is black.
Let me know if you'd like it .... or if you're gonna just get a nice set of poly mounts. I have the Banzai mounts installed on the car atm, but couldn't tell you how they feel as the car's down for a bit while I repair. http://banzai-racing.com/store/FD_po...mounts.html#34 |
If you go with a new oem (steel) mount, you may need to put a spacer where it attaches to the oil pan. Check out the fitment before you put everything together. The old aluminum mount has the spacer built it. The new steel mount may not have it.
Mazda replaced the aluminum mounts with steel ones when they found the aluminum ones were prone to failure. |

May I interest you in a set of these? I offer 2 versions. The softer version transmits no vibration. The stiffer version is barely noticable.
