smokey

I have read a lot of posts on here about 7s smoking when first start. So just dont jump me about not searching. All I am doing is trying to nearrow down the problem. First off the car has about 30k miles on a Atkins motor and stock twins. The car runs great but when the car first starts it smokes not real heavy but way more than it should and in the past it never did. After about 5 mins. the smoke is gone and never comes back. The oil never seems low I dont think it is a coolant problem because the plugs arent wet with coolant and the smoke doesnt smell like coolant. Since it is an Atkins it should have one of their thermal pellet. If it was the twins wont it smoke under boost? What other things could it be and how do I check it? Any help will be great!!!

Also it smokes in hot or cold startups and the smoke is white.

Condensation maybe? What sort of exhaust do you have on it? Do you boost right after you start the car or do you let it warm up first?

I always let it warm up first. The exhaust is a HKS high power but the exhaust has been on for a year and the smoke has just started. There is to much smoke for it to be condensation.

Do you drive the car right after you get in it or get into boost right after starting it up?

I let the car warm up to 80c before it moves

What other mods aside from an Atkins motor and HKS exhaust do you have? I know mine billows out whitish smoke for a while... my motor was rebuilt with a streetport and a ton of other stuff... but it's primarily unburnt fuel and not having any emissions other than a gutted high flow cat. :pat: Oh yeah, and like Merlin said earlier... condensation as well in the mix.

^^My car does the same thing. Mostly smells like it is just burning fuel and condensation. This stops though after the car has driven a bit.

What color is the smoke? That can tell you it's either oil, coolant, water, or excess fuel. It would narrow the problem down just a little bit.
