smoke problem I have never heard of
 

Ok, I am no NOOB, but I have never heard of this kind of smoking. On boost it will smoke a little (I know my turbo seals are going), the thing is that when I let off the throttle the smoke gets much worse and will continue to smoke for a good 10-20 seconds afterwards. While parked if I rev it to redline it does this too. The smoke is thick and white. It gets worse after it returns to idle from revvin it, before it goes away. This smoke smells like nothing I have smeeled before from my exhaust....ie don't think it's coolant, oil, or gas. What the hell else could my car be burning :confused: ? I just replaced all the gaskets in the exaust, as well as the LIM and UIM gasket. What are your thoughts.

ps... i did do a search, but have you ever tried searching for anything with the word smoke in it! Almost every thread in the forum gets brought up.

Sorry dude. It sounds exactly like coolant leak.

The odor you are smelling just may be the smell of $4500 quickly leaving your wallet. the only times I ever had thick white smoke was when my coolant seals went and when i had my pcv valve in backwards

Check you pcv valve. A quick test would be to remove your oil filler cap and see if the smoke stops. If you are building crankcase pressure it will blow oil by your turbo seals and you will end up with alot of smoke when that hits your combustion chamber.

mine did the same thing too the tee, i pulled the turboes and the front one was shot check for shaft play there was alot in mine and mine only had like 100 miles on them. let me know what you find out. also did your white type smoke smell almost like burnt piss?

how would someone know what burned piss smells like? lol :)

just kind a like raw type i dont know but it smeels. i was runing redline oil in mine and thought it was maybe that

Awesome, problem solved! Ok just to help others who may run into something like this...
Thanks to shawnk for getting me on the right track, though it was not the pcv valve. When I just put my turbos back in I replaced a rubber hose with a silicon hose. This hose came from the hard pipe which goes between the base of the oil filler neck and terminates just behind the airpump. The silicon hose that I had put in got crimped when I put the airpump into position (knew I should have gotten rid of that thing). This made it like the situation that was talked about where the pressure in the oil system has no where to go but through the turbo seals. She is back to normal now and I cant wait for my wideband so I can get it tuned right.

It happened to me also, bad PCV, stuck open...

This is a perfect example how people just love to jump on the "YOUR COOLANT SEALS ARE BAD, YOU'RE SCREWED" bandwagon.

I swear people get off by jumping to conclusions and informing people they are fucked and gonna have to shell out thousands :rolleyes:
