Smoke and burning way too much oil (i searched)
lately my 93 has been going through a lot more oil than normal. I get smoke on start up (not a lot but more than i should). I also get smoke when i go WOT to decel, then i get back on the throttle even light throttle a nice little backfire sound then a huge cloud of smoke (not everytime, but most of the time). Also after a spirited run, ill smell a burning smell almost like burnt oil...OMP lines maybe? Im going to check to see if there is excessive oil in the intercooler piping. and check the OMP lines... any other ideas would be very much appreciated.

What kind of boost are you running, stock twins, how many miles on the turbo (s)?
Check your OMP lines, then check your PCV Valve (remove oil filter neck and drive car around for 30 minutes, do a few hard pulls to clear oil out and see if problem persists), then check your turbo oil seals, then look @ the engine. If you search for threads started by me I have been tracking down the same problem for the last 2 months. I am going single and will see if it was my turbos / oil seal. |
it wouldnt be the OMP oil lines because they would just leak oil on top of the engine. but it could be the Oil metering injectors, they have a check valve inside and if it fails it will push oil through into the oil injector vacuum hoses which is then routed back to the turbo inlet. the way to test the check valve is to try and suck air back through, if you can then they are bad. You should only be able to blow through them.
could also be the turbo oil seals. |
lets hope its not your oil seals

im going to check the oil injectors tonight, thanks for the information. also where can i get the oil injectors if they are bad?
