Slow warm start - issue or not?
I have a fresh rebuild with about 2500 miles on it. (all miles added by me)
Some mods are: -Adaptronic -Full exhaust - intake, dp, mp, no cats, HKS Carbon exhaust Starts fine and fires right up when cold. It also starts fine when HOT. Like stopping for gas when car is off for 5 mins. However, when just warm it is slow to start. It alwasy starts but just takes a few seconds. For example, car has been off for an hour or and I go to start it again. Once started it runs great in all cases. It is not a huge deal that I can't tolerate but I just want to know if there is anything I can do to help or fix the issue. Is this just an issue with used rotors and housings..etc Or is it something else. Just looking for advice and insight. |
More likely an issue with the tune.

I agree with the above.

I can ask the question in the Adaptronic section and see if there are any suggestions.

Sure. Also be aware that some old starters get weak after heat soaking so that could also be your problem. The series 1 RX8 had a similar issue until they upgraded the starter. There's a thread in this section for how to upgrade the fd starter that should give you some more info.

I think I have fixed it. I edited the fuel temp crank table on the adaptronic. Think I was getting too much fuel when cranking in that temp range. Thanks for the replies.
