I heard it was a straight bolt on, no cutting required like the other kits. I could be wrong. How much was shipping BTW? Aren't they coming from over seas? And how long did it take?

What is the Silicon adhesive for? Is this to secure the lense to the base? If not, how is the lens attached to the base? Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject :)

That would be my guess. Hey fd3s777, can I just get the HID lighting from you guys, and would I be able to just take out my RE's and swap them in?!?

Yes, it is use to secure the lense. Many people didn't let it wait for 5 hrs and though they don't stick. It is best to use this silicon, cuz in the future if you want to remove the lense. It will be very easy to take off with a metal wire. This silcion is the same silicon provided by RE AXXXXya.

I do have them in 6000K and 4300K... They are a bit more yellow. It is more legal.

After looking at the photos of the lights themselves, the output pattern cast onto walls etc, and noticing at least in a few photos there is no convex (i.e. + diopter, magnifying, causing photons to converge after passing through etc) lens, I wonder about a few things. In addition, I do not see any shield between the arc tube and the simple convex "shaped" glass or plastic cover.

How are these considered projector lamps when they have none of the characteristics that seperate projector lamp from a conventional reflector lamp? For example, a projector would have a, shield with an accompanying convex lens where the sharp cutoff line is projected and focused (by the lens) to infinity or a surface plane like a garage door. Last, in order to use a shield and lens, you must have a certain focal length for bespoke items to work properly, which yields a larger given housing depth, that is not seen in the housings in this kit.

I could be wrong, but the lights look like traditional reflector housings, with a mock convex shaped cover on the front. Given the output they cast onto a plane, agrees with this observation.

I do like the look of the housings, etc, but was a bit disappointed when I noticed a few things in the statements above.

Im with VM. these look like fog or auxiliary driving lights and are not intended as primary headlamps. can you tell us the manufacturer and model number of the lamps?

If you compare with real RE kit (IPF), this is alot better. Price you are getting is very reasonable. =)

Just FYI, the RE Amemiya kit hasn't used IPF lights for years.
