Single turbo at stock boost?

I was curious if I installed a single turbo if I could just boost low or the amount you would stock and not need any fuel upgrade, or intercooler upgrade. My moneys not all there paying for tuition of college and books so on, high insurance, etc etc. I really dont wanna sell this car even though it already has 71,000 miles on it, but if i cant feel boost this is my only other option.

fuel upgrades are based solely on how much power you are making so it depends what turbo you use and many other variables.

"if i cant feel boost this is my only other option"

what do you mean you cant feel boost? even a completely stock car will push you back in your seat pretty well at WOT

ive never heard of someone running a single turbo with a stock IC. its possible, but it doesnt make much sense because the stock IC is limiting power more than the stock twins would

lots of people run single turbo's at 10psi..but if your looking to make stock hp, what's the point in increasing your lag?

basicly, if you can afford to single turbo your car, do it. If not, don't.

*ding* *ding* *ding* When you start yanking things out and going single, more then likely something will go wrong/break. If you barley have the money to go single, then you might end up in a huge delima if your out of money and you need to replace something. Your better of waiting until you have plenty of money saved away. If your having a problem "feeling boost" then single isnt the answer, somethings just wrong with the stock twins. Its much cheaper in resolving your problems with the twins then going single. You can just slap a turbo kit on a car and call it a quits.

not sure..

but a single running same stock boost levels, I assume, would be running alot more
efficient. And would still need to increase fuel to accommodate the extra O2.

Believe me 10psi on a SINGLE is not the same 10psi with twins

Boost is not always boost, you need to look at CFMs of air flowing. In alot of ways a small single like an Apexi RX-6 will be more reliable and run much cooler at stock boost, but they are too expensive in my opinion. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Save the turbo upgrading for when your engine goes and you have to pull it all out. Mush easier that way, and cheaper too, from a labor perspective.

So you've thrown in the towel trying to diagnose your 2ndary boost issues?

Whatever problems you've found and their solutions, or even if you found no solutions and have given up, then please be sure to post this in your 2 'actuator' threads, so that future readers will know the ending to your story.

Thanks guys, the one i was looking at was the Apexi RX-6. Like I have said a million times no one from PBC Motorsports and Motorsport Pistop (Now purchased Autothority) could figure out my no 2ndary boost issue. I have a set of spare twins with me in good condition however since i had the boost leak since the car was purchased I am not really expecting that the recent find of oil dripping on secondary will be my cause. Im hesistant to spend 1000 dollers for install when i can put that to the RX-6. Save up for install. Boost low at least making some decent power then get intercooler fuel stand alone etc. How much power can the RX-6 make? I appreciate all the this help from you guys.
