single, in tank fuel pump for 500+ rwhp
Don't want to run 2 fuel pumps? Don't want to mess around with an inline or external pump? I present to you, the walbro 385.
http://www.euroexportinc.com/store/a...fuel-pump.html same size case as a 255, but flows 50% more got these pictures from a friend on the local forum, those are NOT my fingernails, they're his gf's http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...8/IMG_9082.jpg http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...8/IMG_9083.jpg http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...8/IMG_9084.jpg http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...8/IMG_9086.jpg |
Nice hand model! She can hold my pump anytime!

385 liters per hour at what, 80 psi and 16 volts?
until I see some real-world test results with flow, pressure and voltage you'll excuse me if I remain a skeptic ;) |

Is it completely necessary to have 2 pumps to hit 500hp?
|
Supra pump proven over and over and over
Be safe and go for 2 supra pumps. |
What's so wrong with just using a Bosch 044?

https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-gen-archives-73/some-fuel-system-ramblings-578521/ My Apex'i BNR pump, wired direct to battery, is supporting over 500 rwhp. I've run the car as high as 22 psi on the street with no issues :) |
I'd like to know the Walbro model this is (GSS whatever) to see if there are any manufacturer specs available
|
This is like the Ebay GT35R dual ball bearing turbo for $450 bucks.
I am sorry for the skepticism but there is a reason why these pumps are so much cheaper than a bosch or a denso supra. Take a denso F/P next to a Walbro F/P and you can visually see the quality difference. |

Nope. People should stop in the archives sometime, there's a lot of good info there:

rx7.com had them last time i was on

no worries about the skepticism, I'm not even 100% sure on the thing yet, but like I said, a buddy of mine here in town ordered it for his dsm, so I guess we'll see how it works, he was running out of flow with the bosch inline and a walbro 255 in tank. Apparently quite a few dsm guys are running them and seeing some good results. I'll update this thread as I get info.

Walbro reliability and quality are suspect, I wouldn't roll the dice with my motor.
|
yeah if you buy the shitty ebay chinese knock-offs, I know plenty of people that trust walbros, it's the retards in the honda scene that buy the 40 dollar knock-offs on ebay that break that are constantly bitching about that.

i dont see a "385" under walbro's product listing

Only single intake pump I am aware of that supports 500+rwhp is the Skyline Fuel pump. I have maxed a properly rewired supras at 450rwhp, and usually a single walbro a little past 400rwhp.

page 2 is the important stuff towards the bottom, we'll be getting a flow chart for these soon hopefully. Sounds like the pump was made for a supercharged chevy, they think its for the zr1, not totally sure about that... |
