Side mirror mounting dimensions?

Does anyone have their mirror off and could take a couple of quick measurements? Looking for the distance between the mounting holes and the diameter of the hole for the mirror wiring.

Also, are the bolt holes accessible if I pull the interior panel off the door? The mirrors i am looking at use bolts that go in from the inside into the base of the mirror.

So here is why I am asking: I am looking at a set of these mirrors, but instead of mounting them on the triangle at the front of the door glass as they do on the Elise / Exige, I want to mount them where the stock '7 mirrors are. The base of the stock mirrors is quite large given the hole through which the control wiring passes. I want to make sure the base of the new mirrors will cover the holes.

I would flip the arms like this:

However, i am not sure if those mirrors would stick out too far if mounted on the doors where the factory '7 mirrors are. Putting them there will add like 3 - 4" more width than installing them on the triangle at the front of the glass.

Another option would be to put them on the triangle and fill the holes on the door, but to have it done right would cost money for the welding and painting, plus not sure i want to go that far with the mod.

Another option would be to buy those mirrors from the manufacturer, with a straight stalk, but it's considerably less elegant looking. They sell several lengths of the straight stalks; the longest seems about the same as the Elise / Exige arms above, but they have 2 shorter sizes.

M6 captive nuts should be accessible, you need to be able to reach the connector for the mirror, but long, long time since I've played around in there.

Steel doors are too deep in the crap, but these fibreglass doors are supposed to take all the OEM hardware and dimensions should be evident -

Ca[About 20 years between drinks, the captive M6 nuts shoild be accessible as the electrical plug can be reached
