Should this part of airbox be plugged?
1 Attachment(s)
I just removed my airpump and plugged the airbox where the pump was getting the air from. I noticed on the side of the airbox, there's a hose/pipe that goes nowhere but down. Can this be plugged? Someone told me that it's there to help the airbox "breathe", but I thought it's just a way for hot air to enter the airbox.
The spot I'm speaking of is circled in red. Thanks, Ian |
its been awhile since i had the stock airbox in ,but i sorta remember it just sitting below hooked up to nothing

That's the "mystery hose", it serves as a vent for the BOV and CRV.

what rynberg said

Yup, it's the hose to nowhere.

Once again the ACV system relief valve muffler exhaust hose rears it's mysterious head to confuse some people.

Leave it on. No need to plug it.

probably dampens the sound when there is pressure being vented. I dunno.

What would happen if that hose was disconnected? Would it create any issues or just create increase in sound of the stock BOV?
