should i trade blitz FMIC >> Greddy 3 row

Heres the deal we're installing my T78. I have a Blitz FMIC in there, perty much brand new made for the twins. I was going to chop the tubing and get it welded so the pipes were shorter. Otherwise the piping would get quite long, if I didnt cut it. Maybe some possible pressure drop with the long piping. So if I dont trade I think I def should cut and weld. Or I could just trade mine for a greddy 3 row. It was on the car when I looked at it, but looked nice. Polished and piping made for the t78. Plus its a bigger intercooler ( less pres drop ) I would be trading him straight up:D U think its fair.

If anything, you might be ripping him off a little bit. The Blitz unit is QUALITY, but the GReddy 3 row with polished piping is also a nice unit that is far from cheap. I'd do it if I were you. But then again I would've never put in a T78. I'm just a huge fan of the twins. But hey, to each his own. Best of luck. Laterz.

Blitz is more $$$ thats about it though. I pick T78 over twins anyday of the week ;-)

I will be running my T78 through a Blitz FMIC. I don't think you will notice any difference honestly. Some people run a large SMIC so I think the Blitz will be fine plus the T78 kit will fit right up to it with the pipes that came with it. The Blitz is a nice IC and I like how it mounts the radiator more than how the Greddy IC kits position the radiator. Just my opinion.

lane change is your Blitz FMIC made for a single or twins? If its made for the twins like mine is then the piping will have to be custom done. Looking at the front of the car the left side where the turbo is, the pipe turns towards the right to hook up with the y pipe. Now since I wont be using the Y pipe Im gonna have to make it turn all the way to the turbo. Otherwise I was just going to chop the top of the IC piping and weld on a piece so it can go straight back. What do u think would be better trade or stick with the blitz. Weld it or no?

oh and if anyone wants to by that y pipe, make some offers

I'd get the Type 32 V-spec GReddy (3-row) with a T78 single monster turbo kit. You'll need the large core to cool the massive volume of air the big T78 will be putting out...

I don't know why you are looking to switch, I have the Blitz fmic and to be honest I thought it was way too thick/large for the stock twins when I had them. I have since gone with a TO4E kit, and kept the Blitz IC because that thing is definitely large enough to handle a single. Luckily the HKS IC piping the turbo kit comes with matches the travel of the stock y-pipe so it mates up to the Blitz piping perfectly. I should take a picture of it and post it for you, you can rotate the compressor housing on the T-78 any way you want so the piping travel is flexible.. if you had one made to take the same path as the stock y-pipe you wouldn't have to cut the Blitz piping at all.

It's all up to you though, I can understand wanting a Greddy fmic with a Greddy turbo kit. The Greddy kit does stand the radiator up more than the Blitz which holds it at a slight angle (closer to stock).. it is also more difficult to install and pushes the IC way up towards the bumper opening just begging to get pelted with road debris.

well i decided to cut the MF'er. I figure the blitz is just as big, so whatever. Im getting a shop to weld it for me.
