should i remove my cat on my mid pipe?
i have a cat on my midpipe i want to know if i will notice a diff in power withoutit. i know it will be louder.
i have a stock 13b motor to4z single turbo kit... from rx7store pfc hks catback fmic 12 psi |
Of course it will have more power. Of course it will be louder.
Why bother asking? |
If you don't need to pass emissions tests, sure.

If you do need to pass emissions just keep a hi-flow cat on hand ^_^
Be sure to get your map adjusted after removing the cat though! |

if it was tuned with a cat on then yes.

Yes, I would most certainly, without a doubt, get it tuned for the free flowing exhaust. I wouldn't even install the midpipe until it was at the shop to be tuned.
The good thing about that is you can then safely run free-flow and, if need be, you can put a cat back on and still be perfectly safe to beat on the car (though the car will feel noticeably sluggish with a cat). I would not ever, ever, Ever, EVer, EVAR, run this car with a free flowing system if it weren't tuned for it! But that's just me. |
