should I bother?

[COLOR=royalblue][B] I am considering getting a 3rd gen rx7, but I wouldnt get it until June. I've heard all sorts of stuff about how they are very expensive to maintain and that after 100,000 miles the engine wears down and it could explode or something, lol Please tell me what's correct. If i do get an rx7 i wouldnt be racing it, but i would be driving it everyday (i drive really fast...) Please tell me what information is correct.

get the car, you'll love it. don't beleive all the stories about the disasters everyone has. take your time and find one in good condition. i've had my car a year and half now. did all the reliablility mods to it (ast, fuel filter, dp, boost guage) and i change the oil religously at like 1500. if you take care of it you should have no problems. good luck. nick

If you have a bf he'll want to drive it...if you don't this car will probably get you one...

I love seeing girls in FD's...driving or riding or standing next too, or being pulled by

And start looking for reputable rotary mechanics and start baking them cookies (or something) That way they will be less inclined to rake you over the coals when you need work done. That, and a bottomless wallet (purse) will help immensely.

Megan,

Look at it this way, the 3rd gen RX7 is a real sports car that performs better than 90% of the cars on the road. True sports cars are made to be run hard, but you also have to maintain them.

Just plan on spending some real money on your car beyond what you pay to just buy it. Even if nothing breaks, you'll most likely want to buy stuff for it.... The list of mods for an FD is endless...But you won't regret it. After six years and 86,000 miles, I still love looking at my car, working on my car, and driving the hell out of my car...

Megan, do you work on your own car?

If you work on it yourself, the cost of maintenance goes down drastically.

Which way did she go...
