short shifter harder on tranny?

So my second and third gear synchros are starting to go, because when I slam it into 3rd, it grinds. Does anybody know if getting a short shifter would be harder or easier on the tranny? I'm assuming worse...

I was told it makes it worse...because the syncs. are doing even more work with a shorter throw. Somebody correct me and that person if im wrong.

I'm out of place here..But have you Tried Synthetic Trans Fluid?..it may "help" your Trans Shifting ..Until you get it Rebuilt...And I have a Shorthrow on my Sec gen..it shortens the throw by Physics, moving the pivot point.I find it a little quicker to shift,But I can't for the life of me See how it would affect the Transmission Mechanically. It is being shifted with the Same Internals.

Yea, I'm not sure either. I have NEO synthetic in there, so it should be doing a better job of regular trans oil. It's not terrible, but I'm anal with things like that.

Last night I was driving spirited and I grinded from 2nd to 3rd when I shifted hard. It wasn't driver error, and so today to test it out I slammed it into 3rd and it grinded again. In the mornings I baby the gears because I feel the synchros are having a harder time when cold.

I'm pretty upset about it, because I feel really bad about grinding 3rd gear. When I drive normally it didn't grind, and now I feel like I've ruined it. :(
