short shift
what are your thoughts on short shift???is it worth getting???
|
Depends on what else you have on your To Do list. While my car came with the B&M and I'm happy with it, I'd spend my money on other stuff b4 doing a SSK. I've also driven one FD that had a short shift kit that was way too short and made it feel worse than stock.

Do a search, there are some good threads about the B&M and Gotham one. If your car has a lot of miles on it you will appreciate the difference. You could just get a new bearing and get good results as well.

the short shifters have the advantage of helping you not miss shifts (like the infamous synchro-breaking 2-5 miss), which is good. The throw for the most part is a lot shorter, and will require more effort, but in general, it helps with your shift speed too. I'd say that if you're happy with your car otherwise, then go ahead with this, unless you need other work done on your car

I personally LOVE my shifter i got from Gotham, and IMO, its the best $100 ive spent cuz it makes the car more fun to drive....but thats j/ me. Also my car has ran perfectly since the first day i bought it, so i have been able to spend my money on say, novelty mods (???), rather than replacing important parts.

I have a B&M short shifter, and I like it a lot. It's practically impossible to miss the 2-3 shift. Though, mines vibrates a little, nothing a new shifter bushing can't solve, though.
