Short in the headlight circuit
 

There is a short somewhere in the circuit that the headlight fuse is on. Where would be a good place to start looking for the problem? Are the headlights the only thing on that circuit? When it comes to the wiring I'm not very knowledgeable so any help on where to get started would be appreciated.

First place to look would be the pop up's. Unplug both of them including motors then power the circuit up again and check fuse, then connect one at a time untill the fuse blows again. There is a single connector behind each headlight which disconnects both the motor and lamps.

So does the fuse blow when you operate the headlights or just the sidelights? Do they pop up at all?

The fuse blow right when I turn the headlights on, the pop-ups work because when the fuse blew the lights where stuck up so I used a piece of wire to bridge the connection which shut them. Even when I bridge the connections the headlights do not turn on though.

Anyone have an idea what this could be?

So let me get this right, when you turn the light switch to the first click, the sidelights come on, but when you turn the switch to the second click, it blows the fuse and the headlights pop up and do not go back down??

First thing I would do is check my wiring harness. When diagnosing my headlight issues (resolved by replacing the obscure stand alone relay that is in its own rubber boot), I read in my searches that the poor fender lining can be eaten throw by your tires and also start eating your harness. Check that first and make sure it is buttoned up nicely with no damage.
